Knowledge Center / Flow Loop Testing Projects

Flow loop tests are carried out to determine the pipeline friction losses for a given material at various flow rates and paste consistencies. Typically, flow loops are carried out at the mine site by assembling a temporary loop of pipe. Golder PasteTec™ coordinates the design and set-up of the flow loop and carries out the pipeline pressure monitoring in real time with the use of a data-logger and pressure transducers. The results of the flow loop test are used in the design of the underground or surface distribution system. The following is a cross section of flow loop projects carried out by Golder PasteTec™.
